Summary: Valued Opinions is a typical survey site that offers rewards for participation in surveys. Though the site is trusted by millions of people, it is not something that makes you rich or earns a full-time income from home. The site only pays you via gift cards from leading stores in the USA.

Rating: 75/100

Verdict: Yes

What is Valued Opinions?

Valued Opinions is a survey site that was launched in 2004, and it was part of a group called as Research Now SSI. In December 2017, Research Now (RN) Company officially merged with Survey Sampling International (SSI) to become Research Now SSI.

Numerous famous surveys panels are operating under this company including;

Valued Opinions initially started in the USA and now is the site has expanded worldwide, with more than 3 million members who are sharing their opinions and earning various rewards.

The members have to complete online surveys, diary studies or test products at home and the company rewards them with credit which they can exchange for gift cards from top brands such as Amazon, Target, Macy’s and many more.

How Does it Work?

The site is free to join, and there are three steps you need to earn money;

1.    Join it for free

2.    Take surveys

3.    Earn rewards

Once you get member, you get invitations for a survey via email. However, you could also log in to the member’s area to see if there is any stock available.

Most of the surveys are short ranged that could last for 10 to 20 minutes, and you could expect $1 to $5 for each survey.

Before the start of each survey, you could be asked pre-qualification questionnaires to know whether this survey is for you or not.

On the other hand, they send you questionnaire regularly to know about your interests, so they will send you surveys which match with your profile.

Apart from taking surveys, you could also be part of their product testing service and becomes their partner to earn more with their affiliate program.

If you want to become a product tester, I recommend you to join User TestingTolunaSwagbucksIpsos and YouGov.

I have also written a complete article on “Get Paid to Test Products at Home.” For recruiting people, I recommend you to see my article on how to get direct referrals.

Valued Opinions Reward:

The site offers you money that gets instantly credited to your account once you complete the survey. However, for complex studies such as diary studies and focus groups, it may take up to 6 weeks.

Once you balance reached up to $10, you can convert it for different gift cards for some of the leading brands in the USA, e.g., VISA, Amazon, Target, Nike, Restaurant and many more.

Please remember that to redeem for a gift card; you need to verify your account with a valid US number.

Members Badges:

This is a new concept introduced by Valued Opinions, in which the site offers its active members different “badges” for their level of participation!

There are five levels that can be achieved with mini-tasks that must be completed. The five levels are listed from lowest to highest.

  1. Bronze
  2. Silver
  3. Gold
  4. Platinum
  5. Diamond

You can move up to a particular level by completing all of the badges in that level. For example, if you’re a Bronze member, you need to complete all the available badges relating to Bronze membership to level up and become a Silver member.

To reach the diamond level, you must;

  1. Complete 100% of your survey profile
  2. Take a survey on four consecutive weeks
  3. Complete their 50th survey

Please remember that these badges are just symbolic and there is nothing you could get in the form of extra rewards for attaining each level.

Pros & Cons:

The Bad

1. Limited Earning Potential

Despite the time and effort, you put in Valued Opinions business; at the end you only have few bucks in your hand.

That’s true….

Though Valued Opinions is one of the legitimate sites on the web, still this issue is with it.

You can expect to get 5 to 6 surveys invitation each month, and this can become a paycheck of $20 per month. Even for that $20, you need to spend 3 to 4 hours daily. That’s a lot of work.

If you think Valued Opinions can replace your 9 to 5 jobs and earn you a full-time income, believe me, that’s not going to happen.

Frankly speaking, I am not going to waste my time on such sites for earning like this and I don’t want to waste your time too.

2. Qualification Issue

This is common issues with any survey site. Before the start of any survey, you are requested to complete questions as gender, age, location to know whether the survey is the best fit for you or not.

If your answer doesn’t match with their requirements, you wouldn’t be able to participate in the survey itself.

Let suppose the survey companies want to survey unemployed people, and at the start, they ask you a question, “Whether you are employed or not?” and you answer it “Yes” then you will get disqualified. It’s that simple.

Though some companies provide few points for taking your time to complete pre-qualification questionnaires but here this is not the case.

It is better to complete your profile at the start and give all those information honestly. This will help them to send surveys that match with your profile.

3. A lot of Complaints

Though the site was operating well over the years recently, the complaints have been increasing day by day. The most common complaints are;

  • Poor support despite being contacted many times
  • Once you are near to threshold level, you wouldn’t find any survey at all
  • Account get terminated without giving any warning at all
  • A lot of complaints has been filed in BBB.

4. No PayPal

I preferred to withdraw any money via PayPal account, but unfortunately, this option is not available here. However, if you are happy with the gift cards with popular stores, this may not be any drawback for you.

Is Valued Opinions a Scam?

Valued Opinions is not a scam because it is still a real company that provides its customers with legitimate business opportunities. Like most surveys enterprises, they have their own upsides and downsides.

The Company offers multiple earning options, and by using each of the options, you could increase your earnings.

Despite legitimate, I don’t recommend you to take it a long-term income opportunity. However, you could utilize it to earn a few bucks per month as a side income.

Can Valued Opinions become your cash cow and provide you with the lifestyle that it promises? I wouldn’t think so, but that’s just my opinion.

There are better options out there than Valued Opinions when it comes to making money online.

Final Verdict:

Though Valued Opinions is a legit GPT company, I recommend you to put your focus on your own online business rather than earning $5 to $10 per month.

Affiliate marketing is one sort of such a business model that I recommend to make money online.

The reasons are simple…

  • It has far more earning potential than any survey site out there
  • Unlike Valued Opinions, you don’t have to recruit anyone to make money
  • It gives you control and ownership that survey business doesn’t
  • You have the freedom to promote any products you want and not being restricted only to promote Valued Opinions
  • It’s Free to get started

Don’t put so much effort on Valued Opinions and other similar survey sites.

Let’s suppose, if the Valued Opinions gets closed, all of your efforts will get vain, and you need to start again from scratch, while in affiliate marketing if a Company gets closed, you can choose other to replace the older one.
