As it grew, the services extended to 15 more states, initially working in Mountain View, San Francisco, and Palo Alto. This was the breakthrough that got it to an estimated worth of $3.4 billion making another company to put $400 million more into it.
How Does it Work?
Well, if you want to make money with instacart, you will have to have the app. But before you get there. You will first have to apply for the job as with all other hiring companies.
When you apply, you should make sure you have these requirements.

- Have one of the latest smartphones
- Be able to spare some weekends and hours in the night
After your application, they will have to consider a few things before taking you up. After your application goes through, you will be called in for an interview.
The interview takes place in their offices, so you better get prepared to head there. When you pass the interview, you will go through some training that will help you understand how the system really works as opposed to what it appears. There is actually more than meets the eye.
But you need not worry, the training is a quick one, and you will get the hang of things very fast. After you have gotten how the method of operation works, you will then get the app and wait for orders to come in.
Once you a get one, you will only need to claim it, get the list of items you are supposed to pick up the grocery store, do that and then deliver them. Work is done! You are paid after the items reach the intended destination.
You should note that the program works for only 15 cities in the United States as of the time of writing this post. I know you are hoping to get paid per hour, but I’m sorry that doesn’t happen. You actually get paid based on the order you take in and the heaviness of the items you are to deliver and other factors. You also don’t get paid if you have not gotten any order. No “waiting allowance.”

Who is it For?
Well, this program is best for people who want to make extra money by helping people who can’t make to shop for stuff, buy groceries for them and deliver to them in exchange for some payment.
If you are over the age of 18 years and would like to have something to keep you going while you figure yourself out, you can use this in the meantime. You can also do this full time if you like and if you think you can handle it. Owning a car would be good for people who consider doing this full time.

• You will sometimes get tipped fairly well. Others may tip you up to $100. Sounds crazy but it does happen, though on rare occasions for such big figures.
• You get to meet a lot of people and interact with them as part of your job. This can open doors to other better opportunities for you.
• If you have a car, things can be quite easy for you. You can take on many jobs and increase your daily pay. The heavy orders will be just piece of cake for you.
The Cons
• You get few breaks, and you also don’t get paid during the breaks. This program will only pay you for the efforts you put into it.
• You are the one who pays for your car’s fuel. The deliveries you make will cost you if you are using your car and are going for long distance to take orders.
• The program doesn’t take the distance you cover to deliver an order into consideration when they determine the amount of money you get to make.
• You may sometimes get into conflicts with the clients and make you feel angry or discouraged.

The system is fairly good. If you are looking for a job, and you love shopping and traveling, this can a pretty exciting experience for you. You get to shop whenever you want and may have to travel to far places to take an order.
